While Carlos Alcaraz may be one of the favourites to lift the
2025 Roland Garros trophy, Tommy Paul will hope to end his three-match losing streak against the Spaniard on Tuesday night.
Paul recently became the first American male player to reach the French Open quarter-finals in 22 years after sweeping Alexei Popyrin aside in straight sets during the competition’s fourth round.
Elsewhere, Alcaraz found the going tough last time out after defeating Ben Shelton in four sets (7-6(8), 6-3, 4-6, 6-4) in a time of three hours and 19 minutes last time out.

Speaking on his win against Popyrin, Paul was delighted at spending less time on the court.
"I am very happy to get a straight sets win. I have been playing some very long matches so that felt really good," Paul said.
"Shorter matches like this help a lot."

More frustratingly for Alcaraz, the 2024 French Open champion explained that he battled his mind against Shelton.
"Honestly, today I fought against myself in the mind," Alcaraz said.
"I just tried to calm myself - in some moments I was mad. I was angry with myself, talking not good things. I'm happy that I didn't let that thought play against me.
"I tried to calm myself and tried to keep going."
