France and Sweden will lock horns in a high-profile 2026 World Cup Round of 32 tie on 30 June, as the tournament favourites take on a resilient Swedish side.

France topped Group I with a perfect record of three wins from three matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding just two. The two-time World Cup winners defeated Senegal 3-1, Iraq 3-0, and Norway 4-1.
Meanwhile, Sweden finished third in Group F with four points. Their results were a 5-1 win over Tunisia, before losing 5-1 to Netherlands, and drawing 1-1 with Japan, which saw them advance as one of the best third-placed teams.

France are expected to be close to full strength with no major reported injuries. Coach Didier Deschamps has a wealth of attacking options, including Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembele and supporting stars in midfield and defence.
Sweden, on the other hand, will look to their key attackers, particularly Viktor Gyokeres, Anthony Elanga, and Alexander Isak and a solid defensive unit led by Victor Lindelof to frustrate France's star-studded team.

In 23 prior encounters, France have 12 wins, five draws and six losses, while outscoring Sweden 34-23 overall.
The two sides have met at a World Cup once before, in the group stage of the 1998 tournament hosted by France.
