Leicester City will be eager to maintain their good form in the FA Cup when they face Chelsea FC at the Wembley Stadium on May 15.

The Foxes have enjoyed a good cup run winning five successive wins including a massive victory over Manchester United.

They have scored an impressive 12 goals and conceded just two twice on their way to the highly-anticipated final.

Leicester began their 2020/21 FA Cup campaign with an emphatic 4-0 win over English Championship side Stoke City in January 2021.

A 3-1 victory over another Championship outfit Brentford away in the Fourth Round Proper followed in the same month.

Before they defeated the 1983 FA Cup runners-up, Brighton and Hove Albion, who are in the Premier League, 1-0 at home in February 2021.

The Foxes continued their fine run in the competition at home where they thrashed Manchester United 3-1 in the quarter-finals in March 2021.

Leicester then faced fellow Premier League rivals Southampton in the semi-finals and they emerged 1-0 winners last month.

Kasper Schmeichel, the Leicester goalkeeper, is looking forward to playing in his maiden major cup final against Chelsea.

“We were thinking of playing the game, and it got us a good result. Any cup final is going to be tough. It’s a very old, boring football cliché, but we can’t look that far ahead," Schmeichel said.

"There’s a massive, massive job ahead of us to stay in the top four. I’ve never played a final in my life.

"Being 34 and never having tried that, that just shows how rare these kinds of occasions are, so it’ll be an amazing occasion. It’d be huge, but we’re not going that far, that’s three or four weeks ahead now.

The last competitive meeting between Chelsea and Leicester was on 19 January 2021.

The game ended in a 2-0 win in favour of Leicester in a Premier League match which took place at the King Power Stadium.
