Liverpool suffered a surprise first defeat of the season when they were humbled 3-0 at Watford this past weekend, ending their hopes of matching Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ who went unbeaten through an entire Premier League season in 2003/04.
“It was clear that at some time we would lose a game. We didn’t wait for it but it was clear that it would happen. [Against Watford] it happened. I see it rather positive. Because from now on we can play free football again. We don’t have to defend or try to get the record we just can try to win football games again,” said manager Jurgen Klopp in response to the defeat.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, drew 2-2 at home to Chelsea – a third match without a win and a result which saw them drop into the relegation zone.
“It’s a glass half full day, we were 1-0 down and it’s hard to come back against these types of teams,” manager Eddie Howe said after the match. He added: “We need to get points. We have lost some narrow games so hopefully this is a turning point.”
In head-to-head stats, Liverpool and Bournemouth have met in 16 previous matches. The Reds have claimed 12 wins compared to one for the Cherries, while three games have been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at the Vitality Stadium in December 2019, Liverpool won 3-0 away from home thanks to goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah.
