Liverpool v Fulham

2020-21 Premier League, Round 27

7 March 2021
Anfield, Liverpool
Kick-off: 15:00

Liverpool will chase a confidence-boosting win in the Premier League when they welcome Fulham to Anfield on Sunday 7 March, kick-off at 15:00. The match is one of 10 for Round 27 of England’s top flight, spread from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 March 2021.

Liverpool’s hopes of defending their title may be long gone, but finishing in the top four and securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League is still a realistic target, though the Reds will need to improve on their home form which has taken a massive dive in recent weeks.

“I was never in doubt about the togetherness of this team. So, the world is like this. We win a game, we showed togetherness obviously for everybody. We don't win a game and people guess we are not together. It's not as easy as that,” said manager Jurgen Klopp.

Fulham, meanwhile, are fighting with everything they have to try and avoid relegation, and had put together a five-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League prior to a Thursday home match against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Facing Spurs, Liverpool and then Manchester City in successive matches is a potential nightmare run for the Cottagers, but manager Scott Parker believes his team just need to find an end product to get themselves out of trouble.

"I see these players every day and I am confident in what I see. I see the attacking players coming in, trying to improve and get better,” said Parker. "Of course in match situations and certainly games, the one thing you can aim at us is we have not managed at certain times to kill games off but it is a young team.”

In head-to-head stats, Liverpool and Fulham have met in 70 matches across all competition since 1912. The Reds have claimed 41 wins compared to 12 for the Cottagers, while 17 games have been drawn.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Craven Cottage in December 2020, they played out a 1-1 draw, with goals from Bobby Decordova-Reid and Mohamed Salah.
