Nigeria will go head to head with Guinea-Bissau in a
2023 AFCON qualification Group A match at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on March 24.
Current Form
The Super Eagles hammered Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 away in June 2022 as they extended their unbeaten run to 13 matches in the AFCON Qualifiers.
Nigeria are also undefeated in their last six matches at home in the AFCON Qualifiers having registered five wins and one draw as the hosts.
Guinea-Bissau, meanwhile, drew 2-2 with Sierra Leone away in June 2022 and they are undefeated in their last four games in the AFCON Qualifiers.
The African Wild Dogs are also undefeated in their last two matches on the road in the AFCON Qualifiers having registered one draw and one win as the visitors.
What Is At Stake
Nigeria are sitting at the top of the Group A standings - two points clear of second-placed Guinea-Bissau with four matches left.
The Super Eagles will open a five-point gap at the top if they secure a win over the African Wild Dogs.
Guinea-Bissau, on the other hand, will climb to the top of the standings if they cause an upset by defeating Nigeria.
Team News
Nigeria have included in-form attackers Ademola Lookman (Atalanta BC, Italy); Terem Moffi (OGC Nice, France); Victor Osimhen (Napoli FC, Italy) in the squad that will face Guinea-Bissau.
While Guinea-Bissau's star forwards Piqueti (Al-Shoulla, Saudi Arabia) and Jorginho (Ludogorets Razgrad, Bulgaria) are part of the latest squad.
Key Players
All eyes will be on Osimhen who has been in sensational form for Napoli this season and the Nigerian striker is expected to carry his club form into international football.
The Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro will have to come up with a plan to neutralise Jorginho who has scored three goals for Guinea-Bissau in his first two games in Group A.
