Reigning two-time
Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen will be seeking his maiden win in the Bahrain Grand Prix when the 2023 season gets underway on Sunday, March 5.
The Dutchman hasn't experienced the best of times on the Bahrain International Circuit in the past, finishing on the podium just twice in eight races.
Verstappen secured P2 in 2020 and 2021 and was on course to do so again last season before a fuel system failure saw him retire on lap 54.
It was the fourth time that the 25-year-old was forced to retire from the Bahrain Grand Prix and he will be hoping his Red Bull car can go the distance this time around.

Verstappen dominated F1 in 2022, winning 15 of the 22 races to finish 146 points clear of his closest challenger, Charles Leclerc, who edged Sergio Perez of Red Bull Racing by three points in the final standings.
The Red Bull Racing driver set a new F1 record in the process, surpassing the 13 wins achieved by Michael Schumacher in 2004 and Sebastian Vettel in 2013.
Red Bull ironed out their early issues in 2022 to win the Constructors' Championship but Verstappen believes the new RB19 car is a step up from its predecessor.
"Compared with last year, I think it is a step forward," he said. "But that's also because last year's car was overweight and it was the first year of the new generation of car.
"During the year you obviously learn a lot, which makes it easier to start [learning] now - and I think we have done that."
