After a disappointing setback in La Liga this past weekend, Real Betis will hope to rediscover some winning form when they face Celta Vigo at Estadio de La Cartuja on Sunday.
Betis will enter this weekend’s game sitting in fifth position on the standings, having accumulated 43 points from 27 games. The Green and Whites suffered an unfortunate 2-0 defeat against Getafe away from home this past weekend, while they hope to challenge for a European spot this season.
As it stands, Betis are winless in their last three league games after recording two wins, two draws, and one loss in their previous handful of La Liga assignments.
Not far behind Betis, Celta Vigo are currently in sixth position with 40 points to their name after 27 matches. Celta suffered a 2-1 loss against Real Madrid in their last league game and remains three points behind Betis on the table.
As for their form, Celta Vigo struggled with consistency during the last couple of weeks, noting two victories, two defeats, and one draw in their last five league games.

Reflecting on Betis’ defeat to Getafe, Manuel Pellegrini expressed that their old rivals were the better team on the day and reiterated the need to come out on top in big fixtures.
“I think Getafe was better than us today. In the first half, we had more control of the game, and they made two important mistakes to go 2-0 up,” Pellegrini said.
“It wasn’t easy to come here and get the points. It would have been good to have added them because the teams behind us were losing, but we have to win our game against a rival that is going through a good moment.”
