Having not competed in the PGA Puerto Rico Open for the past five years, Zach Bauchou will hope to make a lasting impression this week after recently gaining his PGA Tour Card.
What to know about Zach Bauchou
Bauchou earned his first PGA Tour Card for the 2026 campaign after finishing within the top 20 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List.
The American golfer boasted a promising 2025 season, after claiming the Simmons Bank Open and a string of Top 25 finishes across various competitions.
Apart from making the cut on the PGA Tour Card, Bauchou had an impressive amateur career before turning professional in 2019.
While playing at Oklahoma State University for four years between 2015 and 2019, the 30-year-old Bauchou earned a 2018 All-America Second Team selection and was named to the All-Big 12 Conference team on two occasions. Bauchou also helped the Cowboys win the 2018 2018 NCAA Championship as one of the hallmarks of his amateur career.
Bauchou also claimed back-to-back Canadian Amateur Championships in 2017 and 2018, while he represented the United States at the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup.
What did he say
Upon earning his PGA Tour Card, Bauchou expressed that he had to push himself to earn a Pro Tour Card at a later stage in his career.
“I just try to be honest with myself on where I am at,” He said on social media.
“I just try to say what’s in my head and the stuff that I’ve been through. I know other guys that have been through similar stuff and been out on the other end, so you’ve just got to keep pushing and trying to improve.”
