The 2019 Japanese Grand Prix is set to take place in Motegi which is a town in Tochigi Prefecture.

This will be the 16th round of this year's Championship and it will take place at the Twin Ring Motegi.
 
The oval course is the only one of its kind in Japan, and currently is used only once a year for racing.
 
Honda rider Marc Márquez is the defending champion (Japanese Grand Prix) having won the 2018 race.
 
Cal Crutchlow of Honda and Suzuki rider Álex Rins finished second, and third respectively.

Honda rider Marquez has been crowned 2019 MotoGP champion having won the last three races.
 
Andrea Dovizioso remains second on the standings - 110 points behind Marquez, while Suzuki's Álex Rins is now on third spot with 167 points.
 
Honda are also placed at the top of the manufacturers' standings, but they are now 77 points above second-placed Ducati.
 
Yamaha and Suzuki occupy the third and fourth spots with four races left in this season's championship.
