World no. 2 Rory McIlroy has overcome a minor issue to be amongst a star-studded field at the PGA Championship from 14-17 May.
The Ulsterman is bidding to win the major for the third time in his career alongside other former two-time champions Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas.
McIlroy won the second of his two titles over a decade ago when he beat Phil Mickelson by one stroke in 2014, two years after his maiden PGA Championship victory.
The 37-year-old finally completed a career grand slam with his triumph at the 2025 Masters Tournament as he successfully defended his trophy this year.
McIlroy has been very selective with the tournaments he's competed in this season, skipping both the RBC Heritage and the Cognizant Classic after his Masters triumph before appearing at the Truist Championship.
The six-time major winner was seen limping during the latter stages at Quail Hollow and ended up finishing T19, sparking fears that injury could rule him out of the second major of the year.
However, McIlroy eased those concerns by admitting it was only a blister that prevented him from walking freely.
"I've got a blister on my pinky toe on my right foot, but it's underneath my nail. So I can't really get to it or so it's a little sore, but I'll be alright," he said.
