As one of the most in-form teams in Serie A at the moment, AS Roma has joined the race for UEFA Champions League football for next season as they prepare to take on Lazio on Sunday.
Roma will face Lazio on the back of a 3-2 away win against Parma during Matchday 36, having equalled AC Milan’s 67-point haul with two games left to play. With Champions League football at stake, Roma currently occupies fifth position, having won each of their last three league ties.
Overall, Roma are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches, recording four wins and one draw.
Lazio on the other hand, will have to settle for a mid-table position this season, occupying ninth place with 51 points from 36 matches.
The popular Italian side suffered a damaging 3-0 loss against new league champions Inter Milan last time out, they recorded two wins, two defeats and one stalemate in their previous five games.

Speaking after Roma’s win over Parma, Paulo Dybala praised his side’s ‘grit’ at wanting to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and assured fans that they will do all they can to achieve their mandates.
“Absolutely. This is a team who give it their all until the very end. Throughout the week, we work very hard at training,” Dybala said.
“We give it everything every day to get to the game and play as we did tonight. I believe that today we showed the grit and the ambition of a team who want to secure a spot in the Champions League.
“We know that it doesn’t depend on us, but we’ll fight until the end.”
