The Super Eagles are still licking their wounds after suffering a 2-1 defeat to England at Wembley Stadium last weekend.

With coach Gernot Rohr hoping to reach the knockout stages with the West Africans, he will want to secure a win on Wednesday in their final friendly before the tournament.

Nigeria are in Group D in Russia and will face Argentina, Iceland and Croatia, but have not done well in their recent friendlies.

They drew 1-1 against DR Congo, lost to Serbia, but were victorious against Poland in March this year, and Rohr will push his men to fight harder in their final match before going to Russia.

Looking at the Europeans, they are also coming from a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Australia and will be a challenge for the Super Eagles.

Apart from the loss to the Socceroos, they beat China People’s Republic 4-0, but lost 2-0 to Uruguay in March this year - they will now hope to overcome the West Africans.

The two nations will meet for the second time since their first meeting 1996 when the Czechs bagged a 2-1 win.
