The 76ers are in the upper mid-table of the Eastern Conference, with this past weekend seeing them defeat the Denver Nuggets 103-89 to snap a five-game losing streak – despite missing Joel Embiid and three other regular starters.

Rookie big man Charles Bassey was key in quelling the threat of Nikola Jokic, while also putting up 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks: “I knew coming into the game, missing Joel, that my time was going to come on this trip,” Bassey said. “It was just a matter of getting ready.”
The Timberwolves have struggled for consistency in the Western Conference, though this past weekend brought a 115-90 home win over the San Antonio Spurs, with Karl-Anthony Towns racking up 25 points and 12 rebounds. The result saw a major improvement in defence from Minnesota, something coach Chris Finch was delighted to see.

"They did everything we talked about doing — being ready, being sharp, and our defence, I thought, was excellent out there in the first," said Finch, who pointed to improvements across the board. "Both sides of the ball – the shooting, the passing, the rhythm, the defense, the rebounding. Turnovers were down. It's been a long time coming for us to play this way. Now we've got to play way more like this."
In head-to-head stats, the 76ers and the Timberwolves have met in 60 Regular Season games since 1989-90, with Philadelphia claiming 31 wins compared to 29 for Minnesota. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in April 2021, with the 76ers winning for an eighth successive time in the rivalry thanks to a 122-113 home triumph – featuring 32 points from Tobias Harris.
