2021 Brazilian Grand Prix

Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas will be eager to emulate his compatriots Kimi Raikkonen and Mika Hakkinen by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix on November 14.

The Finnish star was forced to retire at the last Brazilian Grand Prix race in 2019 due to an oil pressure problem and he couldn't record any points.

Bottas is coming off a disappointing race at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix as he failed to secure a podium finish as he finished 15th on November 7.

Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing-Honda won the Mexican Grand Prix and it was his second consecutive victory in the 2021 Formula One season.

Hamilton and Red Bull Racing-Honda driver Sergio Perez finished second and third respectively in a race that took place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Verstappen is sitting at the top of the Drivers' Championship standings and he is followed by Hamilton with four races left in the current campaign.

Bottas will be hoping to consolidate his place in the top three by becoming the third Finnish driver by Brazilian Grand Prix.

“Very, very tricky. For me obviously quite compromised with the first corner incident, and then I was stuck behind cars that I couldn’t pass," Bottas said after the Mexican Grand Prix.

"It was really tricky and also I was quite limited with the engine and brake temperatures, so I couldn’t attack many laps in a row. So I had to go back and forwards and couldn’t find a way to progress.”

“At least one point [that I took away from Verstappen], that’s something. Obviously a lot less than what I aimed [for] today. Not my lucky day.”

Mercedes are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Red Bull Racing-Honda and Ferrari respectively.
