It’s been an up-and-down campaign thus for the Celtics, who find themselves in mid-table on the Eastern Conference standings. However, they did claim a 122-113 win over the reigning champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, this past weekend. The Bucks were without star man Giannas Antetokounmpo, but it was still a great showing from Boston, who had Dennis Schroder score 38 points.
"There's always a natural letdown. That was the message before the game," Celtics coach Ime Udoka said after Boston beat Milwaukee 122-113 in overtime Friday night. "The other guys are going to play hard and come in with a ‘nothing to lose' attitude, and they did."

The Lakers have also struggled to find any consistency and sit in mid-table in the Western Conference. This past weekend they slumped to a season low with a shock 107-83 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
This prompted one of their star players, Anthony Davis, to exclaim “We sucked!” He added: “No defense. Can't score. That's not just this third quarter, it's every third quarter we've played this season. We come out slow, lackadaisical offensively and defensively. We got to get it together. Why? I can't tell you. But we got to do a better job.

“We got to decide who we want to be. A championship team? That's not us right now. We're not winning a championship the way we're playing. We got to be better, and we got to care more for our wins at home. Wins in general. That was embarrassing.”
In head-to-head stats, the Celtics and the Lakers have met in 294 Regular Season games since 1948-49, with Boston claiming 162 wins compared to 132 for Los Angeles. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in April 2021, with the Celtics winning 121-113 in LA thanks to 40 points from Jaylen Brown.
