The Houston Rockets will look to blast their way past the Utah Jazz when the teams meet in an NBA Regular Season game, slated for the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on the morning of Friday 29 October 2021. Tip-off is at 00:00.
The Rockets showed their potency as a host team when they crushed the Oklahoma City Thunder 124-91 last weekend, headlined by a 31 point-haul from Christian Wood. It was a much-improved performance compared to their opening loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and head coach Stephen Silas wants to see that urgency and energy repeated.

"I think we learned from the last game as far as the readiness that we need to have, the energy from the start, and how we need to play together," Silas said. "We didn't like the way that we played in Game 1, and we rectified it, which is hopefully a sign of things to come as far as taking adversity, learning from it and doing better."
The Jazz racked up successive wins over the Thunder and the Sacramento Kings this past weekend to get their season off to a positive start. Donovan Mitchell, who scored 27 points in the latter victory, knows that the result arrived even though Utah were far from their fluid best.

"They came out and swung and connected and connected but we continued to get up," Mitchell said. "Off night shooting, turnovers, not running our plays. We figured all that out during the game. It was on us to talk to each other."
Head coach Quin Snyder added: "That's going to be a consistent thing we see. That was the stretch where we got stops. The story of the game was how we defended late."
In head-to-head stats, the Rockets and the Jazz have met in 207 Regular Season games since 1974-75, with Utah claiming 109 wins compared to 98 for Houston. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in May 2021, with the Jazz winning 124-116 at home for a third successive victory over the Rockets.
