Brian Gay will be determined to make history by becoming the first golfer to win the
Bermuda Championship twice.
The American golfer birdied the 18th hole for a 7-under 64 that got him into a playoff at the 2020 Bermuda Championship.
Gay then he won with a 12-foot birdie putt on the same hole to beat Wyndham Clark and it was his fifth and last win on the PGA Tour since he turned professional in 1994.
The win in Bermuda also saw the former University of Florida student (48 at the time) become the oldest Tour winner since Davis Love III at the 2015 Wyndham Championship.
Gay picked up his first win on tour at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in 2008 after 293 PGA Tour starts, with his second win coming at the Verizon Heritage in 2009.
The Texas-born golfer won the event by ten strokes, finishing at 20-under par and the ten stroke victory is one of the biggest wins in the PGA Tour's history.
Gay then clinched the 2009 Jude Classic as won by five strokes over David Toms and Bryce Molder, before lifting the Humana Challenge four years later.
“I was looking forward to coming back to Bermuda. Tied for third here last year, so I had good feelings and thoughts coming back," Gay said after winning in Bermuda.
"It's a crazy game, you never know what's going to happen. I feel like, though, when I get in position, I actually sometimes perform better. I'm more hyper-focused.
"A little bit more locked in even though the nerves are there, I know that I've done it before.”
