Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton will continue his quest to finish second overall in the drivers' classification as he looks to put pressure on Red Bull Racing's Sergio Perez at the
United States Grand Prix on Sunday, October 22.
The former seven-time World Champion has finished in the top-8 positions in all but one of the 17 races this season to sit 30 points behind Perez in third place.
Mercedes began improving in June after receiving upgrade packages, with Hamilton claiming P2 in the Spanish Grand Prix and P3 in the Canadian Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix to chip away at the gap between him and the Mexican.

The Brit went into the Qatar Grand Prix trailing Perez by 33 points the latter was forced to retire from the Japanese Grand Prix, but after picking up four in the sprint he collided with team-mate George Russell in the first corner on lap 1 to end his race.
Hamilton has capitalised on a disappointing run of races for Fernando Alonso, who made an impressive start to his career with Aston Martin before struggling in the last two months after dropping 11 points behind his veteran rival.
The 38-year-old revealed that the W14 is having the same porpoising problems as its predecessor, the W13, which saw Mercedes unable to compete with Red Bull and Ferrari for much of the 2022 campaign.

"This car is going to bounce for the rest of the year," Hamilton said. "But I feel optimistic for next year that it won't be a characteristic on the car.
"It comes and goes - some races it isn't bouncing and some races it is. But it is nowhere near as hardcore as when we had it [last year]."
