Yamaha rider Maverick Vinales will be hoping to secure his first win of the 2020 season at the Emilia Romagna and Rimini's Coast Grand Prix on September 20. 
 
The Spanish star is amongst the riders, who are competing for the 2020 MotoGP world title having finished sixth in the recent San Marino Grand Prix. 
 
It was the first time Vinales had finished inside the top 10 since the 2020 Andalusian Grand Prix where he secured a second spot finish.

The San Marino Grand Prix was won by Yamaha rider Franco Morbidelli , who secured his maiden podium finish of the season. 
 
Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir of Suzuki finished second, and third respectively at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
 
Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati is now sitting at the top of the riders' standings followed by Yamaha's Fabian Quartararo and Ducati rider Jack Miller. 
 
Vinales is now placed fifth on the riders' standings and he will be looking to move back into the top three positions by securing a win this weekend.

The 25-year-old says he doesn't understand why he tends to perform well in the practice sessions and he struggles in the race. 
 
"It's quite frustrating that I can practice so good, and then arrive to the race and the bike is not working," he said. 
 
"So, I don't know. Now we have [the] test, more of the same as usual: super grip in the test, everything works well and then in the race I'll have the same problem."
 
Yahama are sitting at the top of Manufacturers' Championship standings with 113 points. 
 
Ducati and KTM are placed second and third with 107 and 88 points respectively on the standings.
