Red Bull Racing-Honda driver Max Verstappen will be targeting nothing but a victory when he competes in the highly-anticipated Dutch Grand Prix.

The 23-year-old's father is Jos Verstappen, who is a Dutch former Formula One driver, and he will be keen to record a win in his dad's home country.

Verstappen returned to winning ways at the recent Belgian Grand Prix on August 29 as he secured a win in his mother's home country.

George Russell of Williams secured his first-ever podium finish in Formula One when he finished second behind Verstappen.

The reigning Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton finished third as he looks to successfully defend his crown.

Looking at this year's Drivers' Championship standings, Hamilton is sitting at the top and he is followed by Verstappen and Lando Norris of McLaren-Mercedes respectively.

Verstappen is now only three points behind Hamilton and he will climb to the top of the standings if wins this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix.

"It was also extremely low grip and because it kept raining all afternoon it just didn’t improve," Verstappen said after winning the Belgian Grand Prix

"I think today the big credit goes to the fans around the track who stayed here the whole day in the rain, wind, and cold. It must have been horrible to sit in those conditions

"So a big thanks goes to them and they should be the real winners from today. Now we have to keep on pushing and trying to regain the championship lead," he continued.

"I’m confident we have a good car and there is a long way to go so we just need to make sure we get the best performance out of it for the rest of the season."

Mercedes are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Red Bull Racing-Honda and McLaren-Mercedes respectively.
