The 2022 Japanese Grand Prix or Motul Grand Prix of Japan is set to take place in a town called Motegi on September 25.
 
This will be the 16th round of this year's Championship and it will take place at the Mobility Resort Motegi. The last time the Japanese MotoGP took place was in 2019.
 
The race was won by Honda's Marc Marquez with Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo and Andre Dovizioso of Ducati finishing second and third respectively in Japan. 
 
The most recent race in the 2022 MotoGP World Championship campaign was the Aragon MotoGP which took place on September 18.

Ducati rider Enea Bastianini won the Aragon MotoGP ending his teammate Francesco Bagnaia's dominance as the latter had won four races in a row this season. 
 
Bagnaia finished second as Ducati enjoyed a successful weekend in Spain, while Aprilia rider Aleix Espargaro secured a third spot finish in an entertaining race. 
 
Looking at the 2022 riders' standings, Quartararo is still sitting at the top of the table with 211 points having been forced to retire at the Aragon MotoGP.
 
While Bagnaia and Espargaro are placed second and third on the standings with 201 points and 194 points respectively, while Bastianini is placed fourth with 163 points.

“Great victory and definitely not an easy one, because just like in Misano, Pecco [Bagnaia] didn’t make any mistake," Bastianini said after winning the Aragon MotoGP.
 
"I made a move in the same moment: I was close, had margin and made it happen. I need to keep the momentum going in these last five GPS.
 
"I never raced in Japan with a MotoGP bike but I want to do well and try to always be on the podium.”
 
Ducati are placed at the top of the Constructors' championship standings and they are followed by Aprilia and Yamaha respectively.
