The
2023 Singapore Grand Prix is set to take place in a bay called Marina Bay in Singapore on 17 September.
What to know about the Singapore Grand Prix
The original Singapore Grand Prix was held at Thomson Road from 1966 to 1973, before returning to the calendar in 2008 at Marina Bay.
It is the first-ever Formula One race to be held at night and in 2022, a contract extension was announced which will put the race on the Formula One calendar until at least 2028.
Most recent race
The Italian MotoGP which was the 14th round of the 2023 Formula One World Championship season took place on 3 September.
The race was won by Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT and he was followed by his teammate Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz Jr of Ferrari respectively.
Standings
Verstappen is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings followed by Perez, Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton respectively.
Looking at the World Constructors' Championship standings, Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT are placed at the top - followed by Mercedes and Ferrari respectively.
Favourites
The 2022 Singapore Grand Prix winner Perez and Verstappen are the clear favourites to win this season's race.
Accomplished drivers Alonso and Hamilton, who have both won the Singapore Grand Prix title in the past, will be determined to win the event once again.

"It was a great weekend all along and to be able to celebrate a podium with the tifosi is the perfect icing on the cake," Sainz Jr., who is placed fifth on the World Drivers' Championship standings, said after the 2023 Italian Grand Prix.
"I really want to thank every single one of them for their endless support. They are very special! Today I did everything I could to try to keep both Red Bulls behind, using my tyres to the limit and pushing for the entire race.
"Unfortunately, they still have the edge over us on race day and P3 was the maximum today. We had good battles on track with them and with Charles and I hope people enjoyed it as much as I did," he added.
"Now we have some time to regroup and start preparing for Singapore as soon as possible."
