Red Bull driver Max Verstappen will be keen to clinch the Russian Grand Prix title on September 27.

The Belgian star narrowly missed out on the podium as he finished fourth at last year's Russian Grand Prix.

Verstappen is now looking to win this race for the first time and boost his hopes of winning this year's Formula One world title.

Last year's race was won by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, while his teammate Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari finished second and third respectively.

The recent Tuscan Grand Prix was won by Hamilton with Bottas and Alexander Albon of Red Bull finishing second and third respectively.

Hamilton, who is the reigning Formula One world champion, remains at the top of the Drivers' Championship standings and he is followed by Bottas.

Third-placed Verstappen has now suffered back-to-back retirements at the Italian Grand Prix and Tuscan Grand Prix.

Verstappen was happy to see his teammate Albon secure a podium finish and he discussed his poor form.

"It is of course not nice leaving a race weekend in that way, especially when I think we had a good chance of more than just a podium but we have to put that behind us," Verstappen said.

"We have of course discussed the issues as a team and everybody is working in the same direction and trying to fight for every possibility in every single race that we can.

"I think we made some positive steps with the car at Mugello and it was, of course, good to see Alex on the podium for the first time."

Mercedes are still placed at the top of Constructors' standings followed by second-placed Red Bull and third-placed McLaren-Renault.
