Sevilla will be confident of a three-point haul in their race for a Champions League berth when they host Mallorca at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday 12 July 2020. The match is one of 10 spread across 11-13 July as part of
La Liga’s Round 36 action.
Sevilla will come into the clash on the back of a tricky away fixture at Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, with Los Nervionenses aiming to keep themselves firmly in the top four and secure UEFA Champions League football for 2020-21.
“Qualifying for the Champions League will still take a major effort from us,” said Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui. “The final positions are not decided yet, we must continue to pick up points and see where we are when the season is finished.”
Mallorca will also have played on Thursday night, taking on Levante at home. The island club is scrambling to try and get out of the relegation zone, but they are fast running out of games and a drop to the second tier looks the most likely outcome.

“We have to fight until the end,” said manager Vicente Moreno. “We know the quality of the teams we will face and it will not be easy, but we must show unity and solidarity.”
In head-to-head stats, Sevilla and Mallorca have met in 29 matches across all competitions. Los Nervionenses have claimed 13 wins compared to seven for the island club, while nine games have been drawn.
When the teams met in La Liga earlier this season, Sevilla claimed a 2-10 win at Iberostar Estadi in December 2019 thanks to goals from Diego Carlos and Ever Banega.
